יונה טאומים פרנקל

Rav Yonah Teomim-Frankel (5355/1595–5429/1669), written in English sources as Jonah Teomim Frankel, was the author of Kikayon DeYonah. He was the son of Reb Yeshaya Teomim; the family name Teomim renders the Hebrew word for twins. He led a number of kehillot across Poland and Lithuania, serving both as posek and as rosh yeshiva, and later stood at the head of the kehillah of Metz in France. He was niftar on the fifteenth of Nisan and was buried in the old Jewish cemetery of Metz. His grandson was Rav Baruch Frankel-Teomim.

Kikayon DeYonah, the sefer his name is carried by, is a commentary on a range of masechtot together with Rashi, Tosafot, the Maharshal and the Maharsha. It was brought back into print in 5718/1958 by the Nitra yeshiva of Mount Kisco, New York, which had come out of Slovakia, with notes and glosses added by Rav Chaim Michael Dov Weissmandl.
