תּוֹלְדוֹת
Rabbi Yosi ben Yehudah of Kfar HaBavli was a tanna of the fifth generation. He is brought a single time in the Mishnah, in Pirkei Avot, and his name appears in no other source of Chazal.
במקום שהמסורות חלוקות. Sefer Yuchasin brings several proposals for identifying him: that he is Rabbi Yosi bar Yehudah, son of Rabbi Yehudah bar Ilai, though the Rambam brings the two separately; that he is Isi ben Yehudah, a Babylonian, talmid of Rabbi Elazar ben Shamua and colleague of Rabbi Yehudah HaNasi, who was known by many names; or that he is a third tanna entirely, to whom the Mishnah added "of Kfar HaBavli" to distinguish him from Rabbi Yosi berabbi Yehudah.
