הרב רמי בר יחזקאל

Rami bar Yechezkel — called Rabbi Ami bar Yechezkel in the Talmud Yerushalmi — was a Babylonian amora of the second generation, the son of Rav Yechezkel and the younger brother of Rav Yehuda. He went up to Eretz Yisrael and visited Bnei Brak, and afterward spoke of the praise of the Land from what he had seen there. He brought back beraitot from his time in Eretz Yisrael, and the Talmud cites beraitot in his name many times. At times he differed with Rav Yehuda in halachah, and would tell those in the beit midrash not to heed the rules that “Yehuda my brother” stated in the name of Shmuel, or of Rav.

He is also found in learning with Rav Amram, whom he addressed with the honorific “Mar” — apparently the first Rav Amram, the talmid of Rav.
