תּוֹלְדוֹת
Rav Zvid of Nehardea was a Babylonian amora of the fourth generation and one of the chachamim of the yeshiva of Nehardea. He was a colleague of Rav Dimi and a rebbi of Ameimar and of Rav Kahana of Pum Nahara. Ameimar, himself a son of the Nehardea yeshiva, gave the rulings of Rav Zvid of Nehardea preference over those of other amoraim — among them Rav Kahana, Rav Pappi, and a second amora who bore the same name, Rav Zvid.
במקום שהמסורות חלוקות. The Talmud knows more than one Rav Zvid. The only source available concerns Rav Zvid of Nehardea, and it itself distinguishes him from another Rav Zvid whose rulings Ameimar set aside in his favour; the page title may refer to either.
