This Cookie Policy explains how TorahSages.com (the “Site”) uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to operate more efficiently, and to provide information to site operators. “Similar technologies” include your browser’s local storage, which a site can use to remember settings on your device. Cookies and similar technologies we use

Strictly necessary / functional. Set by our website platform (WordPress) and our performance and security providers — page caching (LiteSpeed) and a content-delivery/security network (Cloudflare) — to deliver pages reliably and protect the Site. Administrative login sessions also use cookies, which apply only to logged-in editors. These are required for the Site to work.

Preferences. We use your browser’s local storage (a similar technology) to remember display choices such as text size and which commentaries you show in the reader. This information stays on your device and isn’t transmitted to us.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the Site is used: which pages people visit, how long they stay, whether they come back, and which recordings they play. Google Analytics sets its own cookies on this Site (named _ga and _ga_…), which can last up to two years, and Google processes this data on our behalf. We have turned off Google’s advertising features and Google Signals, we never send your name, email address or account details to Google, and Google Analytics does not store IP addresses. We keep this data for 14 months. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics and our own simple visit counter, neither of which sets cookies. To opt out of Google Analytics, you can install Google’s opt-out browser add-on or block cookies in your browser settings.

Advertising. We do not use advertising or remarketing cookies. We may introduce advertising in the future; if we do, we will update this policy and, where required, request your consent before any such cookies are set.

Managing cookies

Most browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies through their settings, and block cookies from some or all websites (normally including third-party cookies separately). Note that these settings usually apply only to the browser or device you set them on, and that disabling essential cookies may affect how the Site functions.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version.

Bot Protection (Cloudflare)

The “notify me” signup form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated abuse. While it verifies your browser, Turnstile may set its own strictly functional cookie. It is not used for tracking or advertising.

Payments

Contributions are made on Stripe’s own secure payment pages (stripe.com), which set their own cookies under Stripe’s cookie policy. We do not set any payment cookies on torahsages.com.
