בר פדא

Bar Padda — Rabbi Yehuda bar Padda in full, and “Yehuda bar Pedaya” as the Midrash names him — was an amora of the first generation in Eretz Yisrael and a colleague of Rabbi Yochanan. He was the son of Bar Kappara’s sister, and he stands among the very earliest of the amoraim: the Talmud tells that Ilfa, who was older than Rabbi Yochanan, discussed halacha with him.
