Biography
Rabbi Avimi bar Naazi was an amora. He appears in the Gemara as the father-in-law of Ravina, and a single recorded case involving him is brought in tractate Bava Kamma.
The passage relates that Avimi bar Naazi was owed four zuz by a certain man. That man stole a cloak and brought it to him, and Avimi then lent him another four zuz. In the end the thief was discovered, and the matter came before Ravina for ruling. The episode places Avimi within the discussions of monetary law concerning debts, loans, and stolen property.
