Parshat Devarim opens Moshe's farewell: on the first of Shevat in the fortieth year he reviews the journey, the appointing of judges, the sin of the spies and its decree, the years of wandering, and the victories over Sichon and Og. Always leined on Shabbat Chazon, the Shabbat before Tisha B'Av, and the pasuk Eichah esa levadi is leined in the melody of Eichah.
