About the Aruch HaShulchan on TorahSages

1 chelek · 698 simanim

The Aruch HaShulchan of Rabbi Yechiel Michel Epstein (1829–1908), is the Shulchan Aruch set with his method of learning. On each siman he starts from the Gemara, brings the Rishonim, the Tur, the Shulchan Aruch with the Rema and the Acharonim after them, and arrives at the halacha as it is practiced — often explaining and defending the minhag of the people where others questioned it. He wrote on all four chelakim, in a clear and flowing Hebrew, and the Aruch HaShulchan on Orach Chaim came out in the same years as the Mishnah Berurah (The Mishnah Berurah only covers Orach Chaim).

TorahSages has the Aruch HaShulchan’s chelek on Orach Chaim — all 697 simanim — with the author’s hakdama. Its simanim follow the numbering of the Shulchan Aruch, so each one can be read beside the same siman of the Shulchan Aruch with the Rema and of the Mishnah Berurah in the same library, and traced back through the Tur to the Gemara.
