About the Rashba on the Talmud on TorahSages

18 masechtot · 164 perakim

The Rashba — Rabbi Shlomo ben Aderet (c. 1235–1310) — was the Rav of Barcelona for close to fifty years, the talmid of Rabbeinu Yonah and of the Ramban, and the teacher of the Ritva. His Chiddushim on the Shas carry the Ramban’s way of learning into the next generation: the sugya is taken apart line by line, the Tosafot of Ashkenaz are weighed against the tradition of Spain and the Geonim, the peshat of the Gemara is set straight, and the halacha that follows is stated. With his thousands of teshuvot and the Torat HaBayit on the halachot of the home, the Rashba was the posek of his generation, and the Beit Yosef and every later posek cite him on nearly every daf.

TorahSages includes Chiddushei HaRashba by masechet and perek, linked from the masechet pages of the Talmud Bavli, so the learner who has finished the Gemara with Rashi and Tosafot can open the Rashba on the same sugya. There are also cross-references to the Rif, the Rosh and the Ramban, and beside the biographies of the Rashba, his rebbeim and his talmidim.
