About the Chochmat Adam on TorahSages
The Chochmat Adam is Rabbi Avraham Danzig’s companion to his Chayei Adam: it does for Yoreh De’ah what the Chayei Adam does for Orach Chaim, setting the halachot out by subject, in klalim, in clear Hebrew. It follows the order of Shulchan Aruch Yoreh De’ah, from shechitah and kashrut through avelut, and his longer discussions are gathered in the Binat Adam. It has long been a standard way into Yoreh De’ah, for the balabayit and for the talmid preparing for semichah.
