The Or HaChaim — Rabbi Chaim ben Attar (1696–1743) of Salé in Morocco, who printed the sefer in Venice in 1742 on his way to Yerushalayim — is called HaKadosh (the holy one). On a single pasuk he will ask a dozen questions and answer them one after another, in peshat, remez, drush and sod, and every answer opens onto avodat Hashem. It is learned with the parsha each week and held especially dear in the world of Chassidut.
