Aliyah 1 — Exodus 1:1-1:17
עלייה 1 — שמות 1:1-1:17The names of the sons of Yaakov who came to Egypt. A new king rises, the people are enslaved, and the midwives Shifra and Puah refuse to kill the newborn boys.

עלייה 2 — שמות 1:18-2:10Pharaoh orders every boy thrown into the river. Moshe is born, hidden three months, placed in a basket on the Nile and drawn out by Pharaoh's daughter.

עלייה 3 — שמות 2:11-2:25Moshe grows up, kills an Egyptian who is beating a Jew, and flees to Midyan. He rescues Yitro's daughters at the well and marries Tzipporah. The king dies and Israel's cry rises to Hashem.
