Parshat Balak: the king of Moav hires Bilaam to curse Israel, the donkey sees the angel, and Bilaam blesses Israel three times from three mountains, including Mah tovu ohalecha Yaakov. Aliyah 1 — Numbers 22:2-22:12
עלייה 1 — במדבר 22:2-22:12Balak sees what Israel did to the Emori and sends the elders of Moav and Midyan to Bilaam. Hashem tells Bilaam not to go and not to curse, for they are blessed.
Aliyah 2 — Numbers 22:13-22:20
עלייה 2 — במדבר 22:13-22:20Balak sends higher officers and promises great honor. Hashem permits Bilaam to go, but only to say what He tells him.
Aliyah 3 — Numbers 22:21-22:38
עלייה 3 — במדבר 22:21-22:38Bilaam saddles his donkey. The angel with the drawn sword, the donkey turning aside three times, and the donkey speaking. Bilaam's eyes are opened. Balak meets him at the border.
