יוסף פלאג'י

Rav Yosef Palachi (5575/1815–12 Tammuz 5656/1896), whose family name appears also as Palacci, Palaggi and Palagi, was a rav and author in Hebrew and Ladino in Izmir and a descendant of the Pallache family. He was the third and youngest son of the chief rabbi of Izmir, Rav Chaim Palachi, and the younger brother of Rav Avraham Palachi and Rav Rachamim Nissim Yitzchak Palachi, who each held that office after their father.

His father mentions in his sefarim the help his son gave in bringing them to press and correcting them. He himself wrote ViYosef Avraham, on Yosef HaTzaddik, composed together with his brother Rav Avraham in Ladino and Hebrew (Izmir 5641/1881, reprinted in Yerushalayim in 5768/2008), and Yosef Et Echav, arranged by the order of the alef-beit, which he left unfinished at the letter hei and which was printed in Izmir in 5656/1896, the year he was niftar there. A hesped he delivered fills the closing pages of the sefer Yad HaNahar.
