הרב נחום הלבלר

Nachum HaLavlar was a tanna. The title “HaLavlar” (the scribe) appears with his name in the sources where he is cited.

He is best known for bringing a halachah that he received from Rabbi Meyasha, who received it from Abba, who received it from the Zugot, who received it from the prophets — a halachah given to Moshe at Sinai. The teaching concerns one who sows dill and mustard in two or three places, that he must leave peah from each one. This is recorded in the Mishnah in Peah, in connection with a case where Rabbi Shimon of Mitzpah sowed before Rabban Gamliel and they went up to the Chamber of Hewn Stone (Lishkat HaGazit) and asked. The same teaching is brought in tractate Nazir, where Rav Nachman bar Yitzchak adduces it in support of a point.
