רבי דוד צבי (רד"צ) הופמן היה ממנהיגי יהדות גרמניה בסוף המאה ה-19 וממנהיגיה של אסכולת "תורה עם דרך ארץ". כיהן כראש בית המדרש לרבנים בברלין. עסק בחקר התלמוד, בהוראתו ובפסיקת הלכה, אך נודע בעיקר בזכות פירושיו למקרא, שבהם נלחם במסקנותיה של ביקורת המקרא בימיו, בצורה חזיתית ובשימוש בכלים מדעיים.
David Zvi Hoffmann, was an Orthodox Rabbi and Torah scholar. He headed the Yeshiva in Berlin, and published a research on the Pentateuch and Mishna, both in reaction to erstwhile Biblical criticism. He is referred to as רד"צ הופמן - Radatz Hoffmann - in later Rabbinic writing.
