Biography
Rabbi Efraim Zalman Margolios was a Torah scholar of the period of the Acharonim. His authority in matters of halachah is reflected in the literature of practical Jewish law, where his rulings are drawn upon.
He is cited in connection with the laws of mourning, among them the conduct of a mourner during the time before the deceased is buried — the period of aninut — including the restrictions that apply during those hours, as recorded in the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch.
