רבי יעקב ישראל בן צבי היה מגדולי חכמי ישראל באשכנז במאה ה-18, פולמוסן ומחבר פורה ומגדולי הלוחמים בשבתאות. כיהן תקופה קצרה (1728–1733) ברבנות אֶמדֶן (Emden), ועל שמה מכונה רבי יעקב עמדין.
