Biography
Rabbi Yehudah HaNachtom was a tanna who lived and taught in the Land of Israel. He appears in the Gemara in Bava Batra, where he brings a real-life case that touched his own family: a matter concerning his sister’s daughter, a bride, in which the question of her ketubah and a gift she had received came before the Sages. They ruled that she would have to tear up her ketubah and stand on the gift alone — leaving her, as the Gemara puts it, with neither this nor that.
רבי יהודה הנחתום, היה תנא בן הדור השלישי.
