רבי יוחנן בן החורני

Rabbi Yochanan ben HaChoroni was a tanna who appears in the discussion of the laws of sukkah. In tractate Sukkah, his conduct is brought into the debate between Beit Shammai and Beit Hillel concerning one whose head and the greater part of his body were within the sukkah while his table stood inside the house. Beit Hillel point to a recorded incident to support their ruling, and Rabbi Yochanan ben HaChoroni is named in this context as one whose own practice bears on the matter.
