רב אחא ברדלא

Rav Acha Bardela was an amora. He appears in tractate Beitzah, in the discussion of preparing food on Yom Tov, where he instructs his son in how to crush spices in a permitted manner — by tilting the mortar and pounding at an angle rather than in the usual weekday way. The passage continues with Rav Sheshet, who, upon hearing the regular sound of a pestle, remarked that it could not be coming from within his own household, since they would not crush in the ordinary fashion on the festival.
