רב אחאי - מחכמי הדור השני של הסבוראים, על גבול הדור הראשון. רב אחאי הוא הסבורא ששמו מוזכר בתלמוד הבבלי יותר מכל חכם סבוראי אחר. קושיותיו מובאות בתלמוד בפתיחה "פריך רב אחאי". בארץ ישראל אמרו עליו: "היזהרו ברבנו אחאי, שמאיר עיני גולה הוא". לגבי זהותו ותקופתו המדויקת קיימות מספר השערות.
