רב הונא בריה דרב איקא

Rav Huna brei d’Rav Ika was an amora whose name appears in the give-and-take of the Gemara across several tractates. In Beitzah he raises an objection (meisiv) from a baraita concerning one who is traveling or sitting in the beit midrash with tefillin on his head when Shabbat begins, and keeps his hand upon them until he reaches a house near the wall or near the beit midrash.

He also appears in matters touching the laws of shemittah: in Pesachim he is in the company of Rav Safra, who left the Land of Israel for outside the Land carrying a barrel of wine of the seventh year, where he and Rav Kahana take part in clarifying the ruling of Rabbi Abahu as to whether the halachah follows Rabbi Shimon ben Elazar. In Berachot he is host to Rav Pappa, who comes to his home and is brought oil and myrtle, and the two discuss the proper order of the blessings and whether the halachah follows Beit Hillel.
