רב סעורם

Rav Seuram was an amora, known as the brother of Rava. In the passage where he appears, in tractate Bava Metzia, he is described as a forceful man who would press into service people of poor character, bringing them to carry Rava’s litter. Rava approved of his conduct, citing the teaching from Vayikra that one who sees a person not behaving properly may make use of him, as the verse states, “You shall make them serve forever” — drawing the distinction between such a person and a brother who behaves uprightly.
