רב תחליפא בר אבדימי

Rav Tachlifa bar Avdimi was an amora who appears in the Talmud bringing teachings in the name of his master Shmuel. His statements are preserved in several discussions, where the Gemara cites his rulings as authoritative reports of Shmuel’s positions.

In tractate Avodah Zarah (6a and 7b) he brings Shmuel’s teaching concerning the prohibition surrounding the gentile festival day, citing the view of Rabbi Yishmael that a single day before is forbidden, a ruling the Gemara examines and presses with questions. In tractate Pesachim (100a) he brings Shmuel’s teaching on interrupting a meal for Kiddush, where his report is set alongside Rav Yehudah’s statement in the name of Shmuel and the practice of spreading a cloth and reciting Kiddush.
