הרב יהודה בר מרימר

Rabbi Yehuda bar Mereimar was an amora whose name appears in several discussions across the Gemara, where he is shown both in practical conduct and in halachic reasoning. In Bava Metzia he instructs his attendant to hire workers for him, with the careful instruction that their wages are the responsibility of the householder — a detail the Gemara records alongside the practice of Mereimar and Mar Zutra, who hired one another.

In Ketubot he is brought together with Rav Pappa, who was arranging a match for his son and went to write the ketubah; when Yehuda bar Mereimar heard of it he came and presented himself, and at the doorway, as Rav Pappa took leave of him, was invited to enter together. In Berachot he is recorded eating bread together with Mar bar Rav Ashi and Rav Acha of Difti, where, none of the three being greater than his fellows, they raised the question of zimmun among equals and concluded that when those present are of equal standing, separate blessings are preferable.
