Biography
Rav Avdimi bar Chama bar Chasa was an amora whose teachings appear in the Babylonian Talmud. In Horayot, discussing the verse “asher nasi yechta” (“when a nasi sins”), he addresses the case of a leader stricken with tzaraat. He brings the verse from Melachim describing how Hashem afflicted the king with tzaraat so that he dwelt apart, with his son set over the royal house, deriving from the wording that such a leader is removed from his position of leadership.
Where traditions differ. The Sukkah 20a passage names "Rav Avdimi bar HaMedori," who may be a different sage from Rav Avdimi bar Chama bar Chasa.
