רב כהן צדק

Rav Kohen Tzedek was one of the Geonim. He appears in the works of the later poskim as an authority on practical halachah, cited alongside such Geonim as Rav Natronai, Rav Amram, Rav Sherira, and Rav Hai, and weighed together with the rulings of the Rif and the Rambam. The Tur brings his views chiefly in matters of the festivals and daily practice — in Orach Chaim he is quoted on the cups of wine at the Pesach Seder and whether one recites the blessing on the wine over each cup, and on the laws of baking matzah, where he holds that one fulfills the obligation only with matzah prepared with proper intent.

His name is set among the chain of geonic decisors whose words shaped the rulings recorded in the standard halachic codes.
