Biography
Rav Yehuda, brother of Rav Sala Chasida, was an amora. He appears in tractate Berachot in an account of Rav Huna, who suffered the loss of four hundred barrels of wine that turned to vinegar. Rav Yehuda, together with the Sages, came before Rav Huna and gently urged him to examine his conduct, prompting Rav Huna’s reply asking whether he was suspect in their eyes — and their response that the Holy One does not execute judgment without cause.
Where traditions differ. The same episode is attributed by some versions to Rav Adda bar Ahava and the Sages rather than to Rav Yehuda, brother of Rav Sala Chasida.
