Biography
Rabbi Yaiva, the father-in-law of Ashyan bar Nadvach, was an amora. He appears in tractate Bava Batra, where he brings a teaching in the name of Rav addressing a question of measure in the laws of property and walls — specifying a distance equivalent to the width of a window. The discussion in which he is quoted is taken up further by Rav Zevid.
