Aliyah 1 — Genesis 6:9-6:22
עלייה 1 — בראשית 6:9-6:22Noach is righteous in his generation while the earth fills with violence. Hashem tells Noach to build the teivah (ark) and gives its precise measurements.
Aliyah 2 — Genesis 7:1-7:16
עלייה 2 — בראשית 7:1-7:16Noach, his family and the animals enter the teivah, seven pairs of the kosher animals and two of the others. The rain begins.
Aliyah 3 — Genesis 7:17-8:14
עלייה 3 — בראשית 7:17-8:14The flood covers the earth for 150 days and the waters recede. Noach sends out the raven and then the dove, which returns with an olive leaf.

עלייה 7 — בראשית 11:1-11:32The tower of Bavel and the scattering of mankind. The ten generations from Shem to Avram. (Avram is later to be known as Abraham, the first forefather). Terach's family leaves Ur Kasdim for Charan.
Leining tip: Be careful when saying Avram not to add a "hey", as leiners often do, to his name. He's not Avraham yet!
